Private Server

Anyone knows how to make one ?????? i guess Faq knows... or pala, anyways if u guys know PST me and help me plz im interested on making one for those hard moments where WoWscape is down...

lol it sucks walking around on it by yourself though lol. when i had my own server i just got real bored real fast. but if you want ill link you to a thread on mmowned or something, theres tons of ascent server tutorials and stuff there. i could never make mine so other ppl could connect though.

i got all the tutorials about how to make it for other ppl and it seems plretyt simple, BTW i did all i downloaded the last repack and i copied the folder maps to ascent and all the shit, the thing is i cant get mySQL to work cuz when i try to connect with acc root and pass ascent hit connect and it says : "could not establish connection! DETAILS : SQL error, acces denied for user root@localhost (using password :YES) " thats what it says so all the thing is screwed up, help dude
and someone told me it was bec of the firewall ports i had to unblock them but no clue how.... would u mind helping me ?

connection to your own local mysql DB isnt affected by blocked ports or a firewall lol. Make sure that after you run the mysql configuration wizard is says "service started" and double check your info is correct in all your config files etc.

also, depending on whether your using a router or not, your internal ip will differ, so its 192.168.1.x if youve got a router (x is the number of the port on your router your machine uses). otherwise you use 127.0.0.1.

I see I'm kinda late here... so tell me when you put it up... I would like to try it, and I know most of the GM shit, too much stuff there though!

okk i got it up and running for meeh xDDD now just to make it public !

u should make some crazy ass gear and crap for the hell of it and make Illi scripted and SWP scripted so we can go pwn it with god gear lol.
